Project Mission

The Measurement of Voting Equity (MoVE) project seeks to identify barriers to voting at the local level and understand how those barriers affect participation in our democracy. By examining county-level election systems, we work to measure and highlight differences in voter access across communities. Helping to ensure every eligible voter has an equal opportunity to participate in our democracy is the core mission of this project.

County-Level Variables

Variables are meticulously collected through direct communication with election officials, public records, policy documentation, and publicly available sources.

Composite MoVE Index

County-level measures contribute to a standardized MoVE Index score, allowing for comparative evaluation of election systems across jurisdictions.
